Recognizing Potential Victims

RECOGNIZING VICTIMS

Welcome to the Crime Target’s "Recognizing Potential Victims".

There can be many symptoms of victims of domestic violence.   If someone you know is showing these signals don't be afraid to ask if they need help or if there is anything you can do for them.   You owe it to them and yourself to make an effort to help.
Symptoms of victims of domestic violence:

  • Sudden lack of self-confidence for no apparent reason.
  • Bruises showing with no reason provided or unbelievable reason.
  • Fear of spouse.
  • Injuries.
  • Lack of participation in family activities.
  • Lack of participation in work activities.
  • Making excuses for actions of spouse

While exhibiting these signs does not necessarily mean that the person is a victim of domestic violence, it certainly doesn't hurt to ask them if they are alright or if they need some help.

DON'T IGNORE IT.  THE LIFE YOU SAVE COULD BE YOURS.
